First prize for anaesthesia technology research

Congratulations to Rishie Sinha, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, for winning the first prize at the Association of Anaesthetists Winter Scientific Meeting, for his research poster on Validation of a novel fibre optic sensor integrated in oxygen delivery devices as a respiratory rate monitor  [ See attached pdf for details].

In collaboration with Honorary Associate Professor and Consultant Anaesthetist, Andy Norris, with Professor Steve Morgan and Ulises Hernandez at the University of Nottingham, Rishie is developing a device to improve the measurement of respiratory rate using optical fibre technology.

The technology allows measurements to be made on a breath by breath basis and can easily be incorporated into oxygen delivery systems.
