Mathematical modelling of diseases and treatment

Using mathematical methods, we are providing insights into biological and biomedical phenomena.

Collaborating with experts from across the University and with clinicians we are developing and studying mathematical models of the body to improve diagnosis, and test and optimise the efficacy of treatments.

Healthcare systems modelling

Healthcare delivery involves many complex systems interacting with each other.

From interaction between users, to safe use of technology, from effective communications to workplace design, we research the system performance to optimise effective, safe and efficient delivery

Biomechanical modelling

Our expertise in biomechanical modelling is used to support the effective design of medical devices, to determine injury mechanisms and tolerance and to support the design of vehicle restraint and safety systems
